Year 5 – Panda & Whale Classes
Welcome to Panda & Whale Classes!
We hope you find this information about the children’s learning in Year 5 helpful. In addition to the core subjects of reading, writing and mathematics, our curriculum topics this year are:
- Autumn Term – Ancient Greece
- Spring Term – Earth & Space
- Summer Term – The Vikings
You can find detailed curriculum maps for these topics below, together with key learning targets for the end of the school year in the core subjects of reading, writing and mathematics.
At the beginning of the school year, parents and carers are invited to a ‘Meet the Teacher’ meeting which provides an opportunity to find out more about how we teach our Year 5 curriculum and class routines for homework, home reading books and PE. We also offer meetings in the autumn and spring terms to discuss each child’s learning, progress and targets.
